I bought this from someone in the entertainment industry who inherited from a family member's estate. It was bought in the late 1950's and was reupholstered at one time at Long Island Upholsterey Shop off of 42nd in New York. It looks as though this frame was added since I can unscrew it off, however, the metal legs are literally built into the couch frame, very sturdy. The metal seems to be some form of either stainless steel or aluminum. I have taken these pictures. Does anyone have any idea? On site attributed this to early knoll. Blessings

I very well could be...
I very well could be wrong-but I don't think its Florence Knoll. All of the 3 cushion versions I have seen have a legs in the center of the frame. The Steelcase coppies I've seen do not have the center legs. The frame on your sofa also seems a bit too thick (but that could just be the pics) My best guess is Steelcase

Close
The base seems plausible (there are examples of Knoll three-seat sofas on four chrome legs), but your arms seem higher.
It's sort of interesting upholstered in moire-- I don't dislike it as much as I'd have guessed.

I see glides on the bottom of the legs
unfortunately, Knoll's square legs are finished flat on the bottom, no glides.
Yours is probably Steelcase.
See photos, top Knoll, bottom Steelcase:
