Question
I have one of the Bojesen hippos and I noticed that the mark on the example KaySnyder just auctioned is different than on mine. It's just an impressed mark while mine is impressed and burned into the wood. I suspect that mine is older, it has a richer patina to it, but I wonder if I'm wrong. I know the earliest pieces just had a paper label. I have an early painted horse with such a label. But I was wondering if someone who knows more about the Bojesen pieces can enlighten me about the different markings.

I am the party in question that made the highest bid on the hippo that you are selling. I am sending this message in the hopes that I can clear up any questions concerning the legitimacy of my bid. The reason that I sent you the question asking if you could ship the hippo to Japan (where I live), is that ebay's shipping policy (shipping only to the USA, Europe, and Australia) made it impossible to bid from my account (Japan based). Since I noticed that your personal shipping policy stated that you were willing to ship to Japan, I used my husband's (he is a US citizen) ebay account to make the bid. I understand how this complex situation could make you doubt my legitimacy. I still very much want to purchase this item ASAP, and await your estimate of the shipping cost to my location in Japan.
