Does the name Karl Springer mean any thing to you readers . Karl Springer was one of the great Interior desiners of the 70's and 80's who died in 1990 at the age of 60 of AIDS.
Poor Karl ... his name is so missued for any lucite lamp that is sold on ebay . .He truly designed several great Lucite lamps but every person who has a lucite lamp that they find at a estate sale or flee market for 10.00 bucks runs to ebay and puts the lamp on ebay saying it is a Karl Springer lamp, hopeing that some jug head from first dibs will buy it and sell it to some unsuspecting fool for 1400.00
under the guise that it is a long lost Karl Springer .. BUYERS beware that Karl Springer only designed a small amount of lucite lamps and then signed them with his initials K.S. or a little plack that said from the design studios of Karl Springer. just remember folks Lucite is the next hot item It is poised to take off for the 4th time after its invention after wide use from WW2.
