A bit more on the difference...
A bit more on the difference between the Aasbjerg dovetails vs the Soborg mortice and tenon

jesgord: thanks for sharing...
jesgord: thanks for sharing that.
A couple more points to dating your catalog:
1: I am reasonably sure the Aasbjerg bench/coffee table with black metal legs and wood feet dates back to --at least-- 1958 (magazine reference to it that is reasonably assumed to be from that year). Is it in your catalog?
2. There is a reasonable likelihood Aasbjerg updated the catalog with new designs from the other manufacturers as they came out. So if you look for other manufacturer designs that are in my catalog, but not in yours, their design year will put a latter edge to the window of the year of your catalog.
It would be very interesting if your catalog dated back to the early 50s. It would blow up my whole understanding of him as a designer and cabinet-maker which is predicated on him starting later than the big names (Wegner, Hvidt, Mogensen, Juhl, et al). Of course I have no solid evidence that he actually did start later. But your catalog offers the possibility....

Mine has the ex/117 / 118 (Sofa table or bench with black metal legs) but it does not have the round 125 / 126. I will do a quick comparison and pull out other items in mine that are not in yours shortly.

A quick comparison between the catalog and your Flickr album and I came up with these items. Some of them may be in your catalog-but some certainly are not. My apologies for the crappy pics. Leif, I'll scan it in the office this week and send you the whole thing via email. Based on these items (Wegner AP-33S etc.), I believe the earliest possible date for this catalog is 1954.

Hi jesgord,
I will be...
Hi jesgord,
I will be looking forward to it with great anticipation.
The early side of the window definitely has to be 1956. There are Hvidt & Mølgaard designs for France and Søn as well as for Søborg, and that Ib Kofod Larsen bar for Fredericia (marked with a V) that date to 1956. And I think it likely that with that many different manufacturers' release cycle the early side of the window is 1957, unless there is some reason they would have a synchronized release schedule early in the year (possible I suppose if you account for the cabinet makers guild exhibitions).
Unless it has the following Kindt Larsen design for France and Søn, which is in my catalog, which dates to 1958, I think it likely that the latter side of the window is 1958 or 59, for the same release cycle reasons above.
So, 1956 to 1959 is the window I come up with. 1957 and 1958 seem the most likely.
I think i can nail it down with the full catalog, looking up the design year of every item in both catalogs. And I should be able to narrow the release cycle question with my 1960 catalog (I.e. does it have 1960 designs?)

It does have the chairs...
It does have the chairs above--but wasn't the FD 133 designed in 1954? Furniture Index has the Edward And Tove Kindt-Larsen FD 125 as 1958

Yeah. I was talking about...
Yeah. I was talking about the FD 125, designed in 1958. And if it has that then it is either 1958, or 1959.
(Or the whole theory that it is earlier than my catalog is wrong.)

My 1960 catalog contains designs dated to 1960, so the Danes did have the system arranged such that a retailer could issue a catalog with the current year's designs. At least in the case of France and Søn.
Jesgord: your catalog contains France and Søn model 189 by Edvard Kindt-Larsen, which the Index dates to 1959. So I think your catalog has to be from 1959. It makes no sense as later than mine.
So the Excellent Furniture Company did not start with the concept of solid teak furniture with dovetails. It was an innovation that Aasbjerg introduced in 1960.

Corner Dovetails
Phillip Lloyd Powell had some amazing corner dovetail pieces. I had one of his sideboards with a long slate shelf that sat 8" off the floor. It was the greatest piece I've ever located.

Isn't that table
Peter Hvidt? He designed an oval, one leaf table that had the same edge to it. So subtle. One of my favorite Danish Dining tables unquestionably.
