I'm looking at picking up a Jerry Johnson Sling Chair, but the armrests are different... they're more rounded, without the point on the sides. Everything else looks as I see them on auctions and such. Is it possible they were replaced, or is this just an unusual version, or perhaps even a knockoff? Anybody have any ideas?

Well...
... I passed on it. Probably a mistake, oh well.

That's weird...
...the part that would be hard to copy is the curved plywood back, but that looks pretty accurate. The easy parts would be that front rail that is much too high and not notched out on the chair that you posted, and the point at which the side rails connect to the back rail---inset quite a bit from the legs on the authentic ones, whereas yours are pretty close to the legs. And the arms, yeah. The arms are not the only thing different about it. I wonder if someone rebuilt it long ago. It doesn't seem likely that it's a knockoff.

Yeah...
That's what I thought. Confusing.
