Here's something
I hadn't seen before -- a photo of a Papa Bear frame. This one is on Modernica's site. They claim to have been making a copy of the chair and ottoman since 1994, and to be using the original dimensions, specifications, and upholstery pattern.
The curious little V-shape at the tips of the arms appears to be correct and original, though I don't recall it in my previous sightings of the chair.

Ha, those little Vs on the armrest ends are one of the things I noticed most, because as an upholsterer they frighten me! (A little, anyway.) The welt trim has to be perfect because it's so prominent, and because of the shape and tight turn and curves it would be tricky to do without a lot of practice.

is a pappa bear.
the little pad should not frighten you Spanky. Once the paw is out the pipeing is easy to do and something I have repaired on several occasions.
The chairs were rarely marked apart from the Danish furniture control mark but the signature signs are the sewn back upholstery, the webbed seat and latex cushion. ( goes hard and PP refuse to sell me any :o(- )

Good to know about the paw and the welt! Thanks.
Who is PP and why won't he/she/they sell you any latex foam? It's available in the US but is pricey. I bought a latex mattress topper and have been cutting cushions out of it for awhile, but it's too low density for all applications. It was quite a bit less expensive than the regular cushion sources, though.
unfortunately it is a fake....
unfortunately it is a fake. I had it examen by a profesionel joiner. The demisions are slightly wrong and the claws are to squar. Apperently there were producede a series of copys in Sweeden during the 1970-1978. The only clear tell is that the copys are about 4cm to wide and 6cm to short.
