Forget buying new in Ireland. I just returned from there and the price of new MCM furniture was crazy. Eames chair and ottoman--E10,549 ; Saarinen dining table E4,549 ; tulip swivel chair E1,639 ea. I believe they were in the Arnetts store.

New MCM ? .... I am presuming you mean modern reproductions as Arnotts only sells new items and does not stock any genuine mcm.

I would say the new prices...
I would say the new prices are that high because the amount of people buying will be miniscule (there's only a population of 6 million), The geographical location adds to the expense of specialist large items like retro furniture, and because the gap between rich and poor in Ireland is so huge, the rich always "have"...

Arnotts
have the 670/671 for 6,700 Euro (not 10,549) so not significantly different to UK. Very good store and website and they have a Conran Shop concession.
