I just begin to build a website with the work. And I think will be good excuse to show you what we do.
As we belong to different location and cultures, could have different opinions.
I really don't know what could be interesting for other cultures/places.
Ehhh, Perhaps need "synthesis". At least divided the work in basic/special/essays.
For those that doesn't know, I'm Gustavo, and I'm in Buenos Aires.
We used to have this blog:

And we are loading information here:

At last we can all see your creations Gustavo! Thanks for sharing.
I still love as much the poetry of your "Burbujas lamp" and the formal efficiency of the "Gusano" that I enjoy every day at home.
Even if I had the privilege of already seeing some of your lamps, I discover here other pieces that are very appealing.
I appreciate a lot the fact that you work with local craftmen as well as your sense of experiment. By visiting your website, one feels that you are in a permanent research which is very stimulating.
In this respect, I find interesting your research from exisiting objects like the cut bottles from the series "Re Glass Vidrio Objects or Lamps". How are they cut? With the good old technique of thread and alcohol or with another technique?
I am also intrigued by your use of black glass. I am wondering what the lamp would look like when it is lit (see below).
Black light and cuting glasses.
The black lamp, you are right. it doesn't give light, or almost nothing, It can be seen the filament in purple, that some people could find nice. If I remember well, some went for a bar; Others hanging ones for a restaurant and Saint Govian hall: 3 in black, 6 in red and 12 in withe / transparent. So the black is just as a mobile
It could sound strange but people want some lamps that doesn't give light!! (!). To create some atmosphere. Romantic spaces :), for kids to leave it at night, etc. But indeed not to read.
About the cut glasses-bottles:
I've been working with this for more than a year. Many times, about every month I said, I give up here, for one or other problem.
The first of the problems by the way was about the question. "How are they cut? With the good old technique of thread and alcohol or with another technique?"
Indeed was the original idea. But unfortunately not. We try that but the result is not so good and is limited, requires too much time. The cut it's OK but very irregular, so will need polish to do the finish for hours !! So that's OK for 2-3 pieces a day, but not for larger quantities. And even that looks "too crafty" most of the times. And could be relative useful for the simple cut, but not for diagonal or other special cuts. I also heard about hot oil.
We cut them with "diamond disk", And depending in the quality of the disk AND the skill of each artisan and different technique they use, can arrive to different cuts.
I'll tell more about this project, that once again I stop for a wile, but I'm sure it didn't ended yet.
I'm more interested in the lamps, because I see there is much more to develop/to grow.
ps:Nice that the experimentation is seen on the site, as an artist, but too much experimentation could be seen as playing the arp 🙂
