Hi, I am Killian from Dublin Ireland,I am in the furniture rental business and am currently interested in American 60s-80s furniture in particular that of Baughman.I have also taken an interest in Memphis ceramics recently even though a few years ago I wouldnt have taken a presant of anything Sottsass/Memphis.
I have been on a furniture buying binge recently and bought a lot of furniture attributed to this designer and that designer hence the three ID request threads.I generally like to know what it is I am buying and who it is by (I had a sleepless night over the McCobb chair thread.....obsess much ?..YES)
I wouldnt say I have an expertise in any area of vintage design, though I am definitely more interested in items constructed with metal, plastic and leather than I would be in wooden furniture.
Thats it for now if you have time please write a little about yourself.
Martin (25) here from/in Denm...
Martin (25) here from/in Denmark - former student of both wooden craftmanship and architecture, now about to start a career as autodidact, freelance furniture-designer. I also sell design furniture at BoConcept.
I collect mainly art pottery by famous Scandinavian ceramics, signed Op/Pop Art serigraphs by various artists and vintage fabric by mainly Verner Panton and Alexander Girard.
I'm just generally obsessed with design, art and fashion. Not a big fan of plastic. Earning some money on the side since I was 16 by selling vintage design found here and there.
My three favourite designers are pretty much consistently Verner Panton, Alexander Girard and Ettore Sottsass.
Hoping to be remembered as one of the best Danish designers of the new millennium and one of the founding fathers behind the second Golden Age of Danish design.
I am already too...
...often and too well represented on this forum, but over and above what you can find in the index (see below) I am mostly interested in design practice and methods and because of that I spend a lot of time in design history. Recently I went back to teaching, this time as an invited professor at UQAM in Montreal. I have often said that I was not a designer by talent but by conviction which has served me well because most of what I do I had to learn. I have no regrets about having chosen this profession but in another life I will persue my real talent, which is writing. I know, those who read me in English have justified doubts about that statement but in my first language I have won more than one writing competition...so who knows.

I have some very nice English furniture,I bought an amazing drum shape rosewood dining table recently by Robert Heritage for Archie shine,As I said to my friend after I picked it up that it was the first time I ever had an emotional reaction to a piece of furniture.........I was blown away by how beautiful it was.I also have a fantastic Pieff 3 seat,2 seat, single seat and coffee table set, another pieff suite (which I do not like) and a Pieff swivel easy chair and ottoman (same one as Jimmy Saville has:) )which is heaven to sit in.
I guess I should have...

I am a musician/print designer based out of Austin, TX. Consistently my favorite designers are Charles and Ray Eames and Alexander Girard.
In print design (like many design professions) I often have to sacrifice my design ideals, but my most rewarding work is my illustrations. You can view some here: jakobclark.com
My band, Living Better Electrically, is rock's best kept secret (kidding).www.myspace.com/livingbetterelectrically
My most fun acquisitions has been a vintage Eames 3473 sofa and a vintage George Nelson marshmallow sofa. My favorite chair I own is by a lesser known - Ib-Kofod Larsen.

Ever since I moved out of my parent's house in the 80s I've been surrounding myself with vintage furniture. The joy of finding aesthetically pleasing stuff for less. I can't remember buying any new furniture at retail to be honest. Still browsing thrift stores and I'm an avid ebayer (though I buy more than I sell). I have too many chairs. Really should start selling before people start regarding me as a pack rat. They probably already are.
