Get Carter car park
The iconic car park from the Michael Caine film Get Carter in Gateshead UK is unfortunately being demolished as we speak

Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to post so far.
Greame, I'm sure the carpark has very few admirers, most people would see it as just another brutal concrete eyesore. It is an iconic piece of the citys heritage and it should have been saved.
I wonder what will replace it? Something 'modern' made of steel and glass which is instantly forgettable.

Got Carter?
Dear H.Moon,
I totally agree with you,it isn't one of my favourites but I thought I'd post it for people outside the UK to see what was going on up here, there was a petition and a local uproar when the demolision was announced,it has a local following, even though the restaurant at the top had been closed for years

.
5 minutes walk away, lucky to live here, although its not a pretty town its very quiet, safe and friendly.
Perhaps the white house (it has a butterfly roof) is packed full of Isokon furniture and one day when the elderly residents move out and have a garage sale it will all be mine 🙂 I walk past this valley view every day.
