Anyone recognize this heavy aluminum(?) table with round travertine top? Top is large @ 36" and has a beveled edge. It may not be original to the base? I can't find the base anywhere..... and believe me, I've looked. Maybe its not as old as I think (70s?) Any help greatly appreciated. Apologies for the poor images. 
I would look at
works by Hugh Acton and Kurt Thut. Both did that double bar thing, Acton doing quite a few pieces in this manner. Sadly, the internet is largely populated by images of his suspended beam bench and little else.
