Personally I favor the Nuthatch
Clever, adaptable little beasties. They eat both seeds and bugs, climb up and down trees boles like feathered squirrels and are quite flexible about their nesting habitat. Sounds like a good design to me!

As the English would say
Scarlett Johanson is a well designed "Bird", just kidding, aren't all birds "well designed" by nature of their ability to fly. It certainly gives them an air of exclusivity.

The base is clunky and reminds me of the base on those wooden "magic mushroom" incense burners that dirty hippies like.

Nothing's more beautiful
than the Iittala Toikka birds from Finland. (Clunky base...I don't think so)
Absolutely first-rate high quality classic modern design.

Barry
Earlier I was actually talking real birds. I have had a particular fascination with the aesthetics of the northern cardinal for a while now. So after tugging on a "fancy" cigarette, I figured I would post my interest. I knew the subject would soon take a turn into manmade objects. Birds have always been a popular subject amongst modernists who decide to use their design talents illustrating wildlife. I really enjoyed seeing Toikka birds. I hadn't heard of them before. Thanks for the knowledge.

The cardinal is a basic bird,a childs first idea...his home is the tree with the knothole on newsprint...
