A post to try and break away a little bit from ID threads. If you were rich enough to afford any design extravaganza in your house, what would you go for?

Some kind of floating
cantilevered stone or steel staircase. So cool, those.

I'd buy a small wooded chunk of Central Park (NYC)
including a stream... reproduce Falling Water on the property... then stock the stream with black & white eels.

In all seriousness, I love the Saarinen/Girard Miller house more than anything I have ever seen. From the structure, to the landscape, to the interior design. It is my absolute model of perfection for residential architecture. It successfully exudes a feeling of being high end while simultaneously displaying a whimsical playfulness (perhaps that only Girard himself could create).
I would HAVE the Miller house or would build using it as a strong influence, if not an outright source of plagiarism.
The "conversation pit" makes it that much more appealing. What a place for a kid to grow up!!! Fort heaven in architectural bliss.

Albino peacock! That's wonderfully bizarre. But I like food more than animals, so I would definitely go for the pizzeria - only if it comes with a proper wood oven and an authentic Italian 'pizzaiolo'.
To keep the Italian mood going, I guess I'd furnish it with a few of these tables http://sessantuna.cassina.com/en/#/home/
Expensive but truly unique!

Fair play, woody...
Monkey money is always money well spent.
Me, I'd skip the extravaganza...
I'd do nothing.
