.
The pictured one at liveauctioneers.com is in all probability made by Wilhelm Renz and not by Gustav Bahus, see the sideboard below by Wilhelm Renz, some stylistic elements are broadly similar.

Felt
Did you pull the felt off the bottom of the drawers and have a look for a label there?

I'm with MCM
I think it's British
Beautility, Austinsuite,Grange, possibly Vanson... of that ilk.
Those wire shelf supports and metal stops I've only ever seen on lower-middle range British stuff.

Drawers are flocked
Norm: Drawers are flocked so there is no felt layer to remove.
Robert: that ilk certainly seems possible. I have not found nearly as close a match on the details as Gustav Bahus yet. And the Gustav Bahus link is tenuous. Will keep looking. I don't know the names of the british danish style furniture makers very well. Nor do I ever see that ilk here so I am completely at sea with the Brits. Do these Brits use the Darth Vader helmet doorstop?
Onno: you are probably right that the third, unmarked "Gustav Bahus" piece is Wilhelm Renz. Didn't catch that last night. Thanks!
One other very tiny clue I've turned up is another exemplar in New Jersey, USA. Makes me ask myself, if I can find only two exemplars, both in the US, then it is probably common for them to have been exported to the USA. Link below.
I am completely lost.

another norwegian link
Here is another exemplar of the sideboard. Again in the US, the southwest again this time. And it is said to be Norwegian. There are no photos of a marking, but it would be odd for a dealer to invent the "norwegian" thing as it doesn't lend any special cachet. And "danish" is the expected generic.

british connection
I was just reading about the british participation in danish modern furniture to try and understand the british angle better, and I came across something interesting:
"
Retail giant GUS (british) set up a link with the Scandinavian manufacturer, Bahus, who came from near Bergen, in Norway. The first store to start selling the furniture was a branch of James Woodhouse and Son in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Harold F Thompson, Chairman and Managing Director of GUS Furniture, reasoned that the ease of shipping from Norway to Newcastle made the store in Newcastle the ideal choice to start the venture.
"
Robert, and MCM, could this account for your feeling that it is british?

It
certainly may
GUS were Great Universal Stores, and not particularly high end (as I remember)
I can't get a 'feel' for the piece as you might, but it looks lower/ middle end British to me due to the stand and fixings- including the piano hinges.
I might be wrong..

Several
British manufacturers used Danish and other European designers for a time- mainly 50s/60s
There is something naggingly familiar about this- It'll hopefully come to me in time

I know, I know!
I have the exact same sideboard only in palisander Wood. It was designed by Alf Aarseth for Gustav Bahus Eftv. of Norway. I know the manucaturer because mine has the stamp on the back stating it, and did a bit of research as to who could have designed it and the most likely name is Alf Aarseth.

Fantastic!
I'd love photos showing the font of the sideboard and the Gustav Bahus stamp.
Thanks!
