We've had these chairs for a few months before we began searching for its origins. There is one reference to IB Kofod-Larsen's 1964 Shell Armchair (see web link). We can't find any further information though. The upholstery is worn and we would like to renew it with material that suits the chair.

From the few times I have seen these chairs they have been in leather. If you want a fabric from the period I would choose a felted wool or wool hopsack fabric.
Knoll or Maharam Kvadrat fabrics are pricey but great!
