I'm hoping someone can help ID these chairs (i have a pair)
I'm sure they are french or italian rather than danish

... or Yugoslavian. Looks like the wood is beech. Also, the basket weave and some of the other traits of the chair give me the Yugo impression.

Definitely similar, but still not the same design as the Audoux Minet. Looks more like this Dutch chair

but still not exactly.
Is the seat woven with danish paper cord, is it some sort of natural fiber?

I dont think its "audoux minet" design .. maybe in the style of .. Although the chairs feel quality ... heavy wood .. natural rope .. so doesnt feel like its in the style of ...
I need to ID the wood

I can see what looks like ray-flecking in the lower front leg, this is indicative of white oak and Beech, primarily. Other hardwoods can exhibit this grain pattern, but in the furniture world, Beech and Oak are the most commonly used wood species for furniture. Pretty difficult to tell from the images which it is though...
