But I think that the two sections would look best separated. Very nice, indeed..and I (typically) have no idea as to the manufacturer.

Looks like birch and...some other wood, for what it's worth. And I agree with Auntmark, separate the two!

Switzerland, okay, then my suggestion is not as odd as I was afraid, it could be manufactured by Oldenburger Möbelwerkstätten.
In the fifties they made a lot of similar cases.
Erich Stratmann for example designed for Oldenburger Möbelwerkstätten, those furnitures are better known under the label Idee-Möbel.
Only a suggestion.

thanks onno for your Suggestion. i dont think ist from Oldenburger moebelwerkstätten because of the legs. the have such a Special angle....the erich strattmann is very straight..
