haha yeah, its glass there's a basement beneath.

Seems like it would have been less trouble to put electricity down there, but I'm an American.

Those photos aren't doing anything for me. They make me feel like I've just downed an entire bottle of Mescal.
I used to visit a house that had a glass landing at the top of the stairs. Even though I knew I would not fall through, it just bothered me endlessly that I had to step on glass.
