I purchased this chair years ago and have never been able to ID it. I was hoping someone here could help.
The chair breaks down into several pieces using a screw and post method, as seen in the pictures. There isn't a stamped or pressed marking on it. Although I am not sure what kind of wood it is, it's made out of solid wood, no veneer at all. It is very sturdy when assembled, yet still very light.

I have a chair made by DUX that breaks appart in a very similar fashion. I did a search and found other armless chairs that also broke appart...Im sure lots of lounges do but perhaps this might help with your research?
The wood looks like it could be teak to me but i could be very wrong.

I've come across various chairs that broke down similarly.
Many of them were designed/imported by DUX, but your chair does not look like any DUX chair I'm aware of.
Also, that does not look like Teak at all.
It looks like some kind of Maple.
Good luck!
The fixings and some of the features
Look very similar to a 60's Cintique chair I have, which also dismantles. Unfortunately a web search only brings up their more recent chairs, but it could be lead? Cintique are a British company, although my chair had a made in Czechoslovakia stamp on it, so there may have been a factory out there in the 60's producing similar products.
That is odd!
I remember they're Hackney factory (not far from Archie Shine's) and the company, even now, boast of British manufacture.
Yes, guess they must have outsourced some manufacturing at some point...
(niceguy, I'm personally not interested enough to write to them or call them)

I recently picked up
an Arthur Edwards chair for John Hogg Co, an Irish company. It won the first Irish Industrial Design Award in the 60's. Have you ever heard of Arthur Edwards?
I'll post up some pics and all the info soon, just in case anyone is interested in Irish mid century furniture!
