Amateur night.
I plan to spend it at home with my family sitting in front of the fire. 'Round the magic hour, we'll pop a bottle of Veuve Clicquot for our annual rounds of toasts to the year past and the one ahead. Then I'll likely take two aspirin and hit the pillow before the hangover takes hold.
Merry and happy to all!

veuve is horrendous stuff....you hopefully have time to find something nicer to drink and it might save you the tablets.

So true, Killian.
The very first time I got truly drunk was at the Mumm's caves in Reims at age 15.
The bottle in my fridge was a gift. I'd never buy it.
It's all horrendous stuff in my book.

Killian, that's funny...
I don't see the fascination with Veuve either. The worst I've ever partaken in aside from the bargain stuff was a 1960's vintage bottle of Dom, although I can't remember the particular year. Tasted like raw pomegranate seltzer, I swear.
What's your flavor? I quite like Duval- Leroy myself.

Killian
That's correct.
He's the creative director for this new years eve.
One wonders how much he'll make from that.
So far they've come up with 'Happy New Year' in 13 different languages written in fireworks on the bridge, don't ask me why!
In all fairness it is a spectacular event but the best seats in the house are if you're fortunate enough to be on a boat within the harbour
