Looking for info on cushions
I came across this 1939 magazine article showing how to make cushions from spring "mats". The only chair I have with an inner spring cushion is a Kofod Larsen Seal chair. In addition to the springs, the Kofod Larsen cushion also appears to have a wire frame around its perimeter, to help the cushion hold its shape. Which it has done quite well over the chair's half-century life.

Actually
this is an image from the same 1939 article, and shows a cushion that might resemble what is inside my Kofod Larsen chair. A metal frame, with individual springs held onto the the wire framework with clips. I believe I have seen these springs and clips being sold at upholstery suppliers in various spring sizes.
So, has anyone ever made their own custom sized cushions using these kinds of materials?

what are these called and where can I get them?
Hello
You mentioned the "tightly coiled wire springs that are coated with a protective vinyl".
What are these called and where can I buy them?
I live in france and have seen a sofa frame with 2 armchair frames. however, the springs are no longer there.
I would love to buy and renovate but I'm having trouble finding info on the net as I don't even know what they're called.
Thanks
