....just picked up this interesting teak daybed.......the base is unique to me, and I've had no luck in drumming up any info relating to it.......the photos certainly aren't great, but I tried to shoot the areas most likely to help in identifying it. There are no markings on it whatsoever.......I've made the assumption that it's Danish, but I suppose it's just that.......an assumption. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

The wood is surprisingly light Afromosia. It must not have seen much sun in its lifetime.

Leif,
I'm searching the internet high and low for this design........are there any keywords that may not be obvious, but that you know to be effective, on something like this? Or a site that I might not be aware of? I rely pretty heavily on google image in my searching......and that tends to turn up many of the same results time after time, even after changing words and word order. Thanks.

I have discovered that the most effective way to use the Internet to help you to identify a piece of Danish modern furniture, after you have exhausted obvious direct queries, is to start attempting to identify Danish modern furniture for other people. Google is not so very direct in its understanding of your keywords, so you may find an excellent lead for a daybed while trying to find someone else's credenza. Or dining chair. It helps to keep the context to Danish modern, but beyond that you must enjoy looking a Danish design enough to want to look at a million new pictures.
You can also use google to search specific websites that have a lot of information specifically relating to Danish modern furniture. Again, once you exhaust a few obvious keywords, identifying something for someone else is probably your best way to find new keywords for yourself.
And learn a bit of Danish, specifically words for types of furniture, furniture parts, woods, materials, etc. And the same for Swedish and Norwegian.

Maybe a key point is that very rarely does anyone describe a piece of Danish modern furniture on the Internet using particularly perceptive keywords, except for the keywords regarding maker or designer, which are the keywords you don't have and are looking for. So it is generally not very helpful to get overly precise in keywords relating to a specific piece. It is more productive to use a broader range of shallow and unperceptive keywords relating to Danish modern generally and let Google randomly provide you with a new collection of Danish modern furniture pieces to look through.
When you try to get more and more precise, you end up looking at the same unproductive set of images over and over again.

thanks Leif, I appreciate it.......I do enjoy spending time going through photos of all kinds of pieces, so I'll just take the approach you mention, and hope that with some patience, I'll uncover some info on the daybed.

You need lots of patience. Years of it sometimes. There is a saying, "whatever comes through the gate is not family treasure."

I am sure I am not the only person who was looking for "X" and found "Y" and had an "AHAH!" moment, often driving me back to DA for an update for someone else.
I think people are starting to take advantage of however Google scrapes photos info (meta data? Image descriptions?) and are starting to populate those descriptors with high interest key words such as MID CENTURY MODERN, or DANISH MODERN even though the images have nothing to do with what you are searching for.
As another rant, I hate Hate HATE when you find a match for something on Etsy and click on a link it takes you to a category for that item that is only somewhat related. Gack

I agree with your thoughts on google search issues waffle.......results are becoming more littered with non-relevant items all the time.......and yes, too often when you do find what appears to be a lead, the link directs you to something only vaguely related. It gets frustrating.
