Hi folks,
I'm fairly new to searching for rare and/or beautiful furniture for a descent price...I'm still not all that familiar with the more rare/unknown stuff out there so yesterday after looking at some previous posted stuff here on design addict i realized that i missed out on what was probably a once in a lifetime occasion...
Few weeks ago i was checking out a flea market and there where these two lamps that caught my eye..they where vintage 50's or 60's desk lamps but still in very good condition, asking price for the pair was 30$...i didn't really saw the need for these lamps and decided to give this one a pass...yesterday (after reading a post on here and doing some research) i realized it where two "Baltensweiler" lamps in almost mint condition. Boy did i feel bad...can't get this stupid mistake out of my head now 😀
Sunday i'm going to go back to this flea market in the hopes the lamps are still available but its a long shot since it's been close to 5 weeks.
Have you guys ever regretted not buying a certain item or come to conclusions that the item you decided not to buy was actually a killer deal.
Curious to hear and maybe it'll make me feel a little better knowing i'm not the only one whom had days like this... 😀
There have been numerous...
There have been numerous "fish that got away" discussions here over the years. Here's one

A little gouache by Arthur Dove.
Maybe 5 X 7 inches for $1500 from a gallery on W. 57th in 1978 or '79. Smitten at first sight, and probably could have swung the cash, but didn't do it. Why not, exactly, I don't remember.
I may never again see a painting that I like so much at such an affordable price. I know I haven't since.
