stephen post
your article please! even though i am not really a fan of ikea i believe it is always very interesting to visit a company. It is in fact one of the things i like to do most, mostly i have visited productionfirms, subcontractors and never have i not learned something! and ikea; it would be enormous interesting to reveal their key to success. Even ikea is much more then just the furniture seller; they have there own subcontractor (the one who makes the hinges, screws etc), when i was working for a company that produced furniture for them they were going to build a new plant for hardboard (never knew if they did it in fact), their biggest problem is not to open new stores and sell products but to find subcontractors that can supply such amount of furniture they sell. and what about the story that ikea owns the trains of the belgium railroadcompany? (and perhaps even in more countries). stephen; give us answers and new insights!!
I too am interested.
There may have been write-ups on IKEA's inner workings in the past but I missed them if there were. I'm really interested in hearing about them. There were always be those who are excessively negative about any given subject. They are a small minority, though---please let the rest of us know where we can read your article! I found your other writings in the Sydney Morning Herald.
