no doubts about ChrisG's good intentions I would not bring this to a bodyshop. Car paints and furniture paints are different things. I am sure you would want to restaure the typical egg-shell finish of the Arne Jacobsen chairs, so please do not try to do it yourself. Bring the chairs to a good cabinet maker. He will know what to do about it.
