Dang!
I've been phoning, emailing, buddying up to a certain university to get a bunch of old shells that they were about to throw out from a molded building. All the shells in the above picture are now in a huge dumpster because the university said it was a liability to sell fiberglass chairs with a little mold on the surface. I did manage to sneak 30 out though:)
Is it ok to literally dumpster dive under 4 feet of asbestos and mold in order to get another 30?
Isn't asbestos a bird? 🙂
My 30 desks were put to the side for me. BUT I did look in the dumpster and saw a ton of asbestos tiles and a sea of colorful fiberglass....even a bunch of contract colors that I've never seen in person. I didn't have my phone or camera on me....would have been a sad sad picture.
I don't know wth to do with 30 desks...besides put them in the corner of my dining room.
Orleans,
I do believe that Dumpster Diving in the US is perfectly legal as all refuse has been relegated to the public domain. I would, however, wear a face mask.
LuciferSum is the expert on all questions regarding dumpsters so you may want to wait until he responds. If it were me and I was still in the resale business, I can promise you I would have already cleared out that dumpster wearing a Level IV Haz-Mat suitand a big ol' grin!
