Hello -- husband and I just bought a new house and have some awesome pieces including 2 wall lamps and matching chandelier by Gerald Thurston for Lightolier. It took us a while to id, but now I don't know what to do. I found a store in my area that specializes in post-modern things that I was going to take them for an estimate and see if they would be interested in buying for the store, but I am not sure if I am doing the best thing. We've seen just one of the wall lamps sell yesterday on ebay for $500, but we have 2 and the chandelier and trying to find the value of this full set, and who would be best to take it for an assessment. The chandelier seems rare from the one or 2 mentions we can find about it...I am not asking you all for value, just suggestions on who do I go to for help assessing value? Should I look for an antique dealer, or an art-type dealer, or are there certain places that just specialize in vintage lighting that I should be looking at? I have googled a ton and someone on reddit suggested that this forum is probably the best to help point me in the right direction. Here is a link to the lights themselves: http://imgur.com/a/JB21x Thank you very much for your time.

Why don't you keep them for...
Why don't you keep them for awhile and see if they grow on you. They look very nice where they are. It would be a shame just to take them down and sell them without living with them for awhile.

These are nice, but not...
These are nice, but not exceedingly rare or valuable. Best way to sell them (get them in front of the most eyes) is likely ebay. /i think $500.00 for all 3 may even be a stretch.

Yeah,
Keep the lamps! Money will go away, but the lamps you can look at forever, especially when they have a history with the house. Maybe you can look for pieces to match, could be fun!
You can get a good idea what they are worth, when comparing with mcm dealers online.
I especially like the ceiling version, great quality!

Thanks
We actually have a great collection of lighting at this house - some really unique pieces. I definitely think these are cool, but we actually have some other antique lighting from grandparents that we will be using in the living room that fit the period, and I am eyeing up another MCM chandelier for the dining room. Here's a peek at a couple of the other lights...and our C Jere Seagulls 🙂

All of those lamps are wonderful
I especially love the wall sconces in the hallway.
I would really give it time to consider before replacing any of them. Especially if they are original to the house.
And that is a Jere flock of birds sculpture. They are typically signed on the wing of one of the birds on the right-hand side. But signed or not, that design is well documented.

lamps
The two light fixtures with the "cages" around them look to be Lightolier as well.

Beautiful
Those lamps are just beautiful. I would also suggest leaving them for a while -- let them simmer a bit before deciding to sell. Incorporate the family heirlooms if they fit the MCM design. A lot of people (including myself) would lean towards buying a home if it had those special touches. Or if you don't like them at all, just store them in a box and save them for the next potential home buyer.
