Just know that I'm giving you the benefit of doubt here, OK?
After you've removed the screws, place one hand on top of the seat, grab the lower edge of an arm pad with the other, and pull the arm pad upward slowly but firmly levering it outboard. It will come.
That said, you don't really need to remove the arms to get a pretty good sense of shock mount condition.
