Managing your expectations is helpful. You are FAR more likely to find a vintage Eames chair (perhaps with an after-market base) than you are to find an Akari lamp: just far fewer Akaris and they are far more fragile.
With the rise of the internet more and more people are becoming savvy (unfortunately both pickers AND sellers) so the chances of finding a super rare piece are a lot slimmer than they used to be.
