Good people,
I'm looking for an original vintage poster (for my yet-to-be-born daughter's room) I have seen some options on e-bay and other stores but I'm afraid to bid or buy for I have no clue as to how to verify the poster's authenticity.
Is there any way to know when a vintage poster is original. Any specific guidelines I should follow when browsing ? Are there any "intelligent" questions I can ask the seller before I buy?
any suggestions to this humble dessign addict's dilema will be tremendously appreciated.

A Couple Tips
First, buy or bring a loop. You want to understand how it is printed. The vintage ones were usually stone lithography....and seven or so colors would be typical. Modern posters are 4 color process printed and you'll be able to see the little dots under a loop.
If you're spending a whole lot...you'll want to understand provenance. I had a dealer tell me that the only reason there are some Lautrecs around is that the printer had some extras sitting around. All the ones that got pasted up were fugitive.
If age is important....the dealer will turn on a black light. If the picture shows white paper then the print probably isn't old because modern paper is bleached.
And, probably a zillion other things but these would get you started. My personal thought is that if you like the image and can determine that it is a high quality method of printing then buy it.

international poster
Hi, I have bought a poster from Gallery Rouge ( http://www.gallerierouge.com/) and it was a bit expensive but was dated and printed on canvas, a big tip-off for vintage posters.
I haven't bought anything from them, but take a look at International Poster.
