If you're snowed in or have a half hour to kill tomorrow-this is an interesting watch

jesgord – thanks for sharing this.
Given that this was produced in 1960, and I cannot fathom how Mr. Nelson would feel about our current state of weaponry. Then again, he likely anticipated that our perpetual fascination with killing each other would lead us to where we our today.
Definitely found his comments about looking to children's toys to understand the state of weaponry telling.
C'est la vie.

Though George's delivery is a bit dry, it's great to see he had a "killer" sense of humor. His willingness to comment on the dark side of humanity is somehow very refreshing.
Taking his open-minded approach to some OTHER areas of human existence that normally don't get scrutinized through the lens of "good design"-- could be quite telling. I just have to think of some.
His comments on limitless and socially "invisible" money for the design of war machines are very insightful too. Must have been really frustrating to watch all that money go to those expensive "toys"-- and caused many a designer to ask the hardest moral questions of themselves.
Thanks jesgord.
