Hi
I recently purchased a stunning table and four chairs with paper cord seats and I'm now curious to know if I have the real thing or just a very good copy. After pouring through several images I came across Hovmand Olsen and they seem to match?except for one detail on the chairs. The backrest edges are slightly curved whereas all the photographs I have seen have had or appear to have straight angular edges. There are no visible makers marks and the paper cord appears to have been replaced (very well!). Any information or help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
The chairs shown at the link...
The chairs shown at the link below have the same curve and soft edges on the backrest as yours. They have a Danish Control tag and Mogens Kold emblem, so they are Danish made. They are otherwise identical to Mogens Kold chairs with the crisper edges on the backrest, and I would guess it is just a manufacturing variation. As has been pointed out recently on the forum, there are variations with the construction of other Hovmand Olsen chair models produced by Mogens Kold.
