I visited this beautiful Modernist house in the countryside outside London today
It was designed and lived in by architect Patrick Gwynne from 1937

Looks wonderful. A clear reference to Corbusier's Villa Savoye. The public view is true to the Corbusier International style. Then, what I like most, the rear opens up. The irony is that in private, this home is more inviting and public.
The tucked away tiled support column with lights is a treat! Great landscaping...not much to criticize other than the entrance balconies which to me seem counter to form...but still work.

Any pictures of the interior? Have seen some in books and its pretty remarkable, wasn't there a custom made desk in the office that was very special for some reason?

Wonderful, I had no idea this was just down the road from me. I will be checking it out soon.
Another National Trust property on my list is Erno Goldfingers house in Hampstead.

Took the quicktime tour. Can't say I'm impressed. However, I really like the living room. It's hard to see in the QT tour, but is that a long narrow table jutting our from the stereo wall (term for this type???)? Would love to raid the record collection!

The
narrow table is a fold out servery / bar..the leg folds up and it disappears into the wall
