A bit macabre but I can't help seeing those pictures and thinking of a tabloid article along the lines of 'The 42 year old Realtor was found dead of a drug overdoes in his lavishly furnished apartment"

I
I quite like 'overdoes' much nicer somehow
The Radio4 programme on Hicks should still be available
One just has to put up with LLB...

LLB was the big turn off for me with that series too - I know he's entitled to reinvent himself - but not on my time.
Stephen Roberts would be Patrick Bateman's favourite designer

It?s easy to poke fun at him...
It?s easy to poke fun at him what with changing rooms etc but it was an excellent series (imho)
He visited some great buildings / homes and interviewed some interesting and knowledgeable people,
Some of the highlights for me;
The Isokon flats
Conran talking about the birth of Habitat
The history of loft living
Charles Voysey
David Hicks
Personally I really enjoyed it

Simple lines how I love you.
I heart Stephen Roberts...a piece here a piece there. His furniture of course. 😀

I only heard the modernism...
I only heard the modernism and Voysey episodes but both were very good in a surface scratching way - I just don't like LLB tbh (changing Rooms is a LOT to have to forgive after all) Part of my objection is also that there is a tendency on the part of the the ratings hungry BBC to use presenters more for their supposed mass appeal than their knowledge or talents - its why Film 2008 is presented by Jonathan Ross rather than the infinitely more discerning, knowledgeable and personable Mark Kermode!

Oh
I quite agree, although his design vocabulary was streets ahead of the other presenters on that show
(our equivalent of Trading Spaces for our US friends)
He built his own cross to bear..
from MDF and gold spray paint

In case it matters to anyone
they are both pretty easy on the eyes, in my opinion at least.

Sorry Beloved, they are nice images just a bit over the top for me.
This is my idea of a beautiful interior.

Farnsworth is not comparable.
It is an icon. It is perfect, beyond critique.
While Stephen and Kelly's work have plenty of detractors, and not to everyone's taste.
