I searched the forum but couldn't find an answer to this question - maybe it's in there and I just couldn't find it. In any case, I was hoping someone could tell me when Herman Miller started using the foil labels and round medallions on Eames and Nelson pieces. Did the use of them overlap or did the medallions replace the foil labels? Were foil labels only used on certain types of pieces, and medallions on others? I've been trying to find this out for a while without much luck.
Thanks!

Foil first...
Then medallions.
Don't know the exact dates, but foil labels were used first by Herman Miller, circa early to mid-50s.
Medallions were used after that until probably the 70s.
Someone else can probably provide more accurate date ranges.

I'm familiar with the medallion, but this is the first I've heard of a foil label. I could only find one photo via google. Is the attached photo what we are talking about?

Yes
That is an example of a foil label. Usually they have rounded corners.

The fact that the chair in the photo
has the experimental couplings at the shockmounts, dates the use of this label to around 1952.

From what I understand, the...
From what I understand, the true rectangle foil label was used first, from about 1950-1952, and then it was replaced with the foil label with the rounded edges.

Does anyone know at what point Herman Miller started to use the type of badge (or what is it called?) pictured below?

My guess
1990s or 2000s... I'm leaning toward 2000s.
