Hi to everyone,
i'm new on this forum but seems to be the best place to get some help form this problem:

My grandfather owns tho lounge chair by Eames that has the Herman Miller label in the downside. He wants to sell them and asked to me to help him so I'm trying to estimate a period of production (not the perfect year, just the period). The two lables al both round but one is "base white and words and logo silver" and one in "base black and words and logo silver".

Unfortunately i didn't take any photos and hope my description in enough.

Someone can help me?

Tan You a lot.
Giulio

Can you post a picture of your Grandfather? Sometimes that can help.
Best,
Aunt Mark

try contacting herman miller directly. They usually are approachable and accommodating. I am not sure even they can help you at all without pictures of the chair and the logo though. You to have to provide the pictures for a proper identification.

Hate to break the bad news to you, but looks like you've got a Chinese knockoff . . .

They've actually gotten quite good at replicating the original. However it 's the minor details, like a slightly misplaced cigarette, that gives it away.

Thank you.... this images are taken from internet but, for example, wich details you see? So I can control on mine next time i see the chairs.
It's hard to think that in the 60's / 70's (it's probably the period of production i tought) someone selled chinese fakes..

Judging by the wrinkles in the leathery finish, I'd say your knock-off was more likely created in the 50's. And I doubt there's any down feathers on the inside.
