I just wanted to share my Kick Starter Project in which im looking to create a book about Herman Miller and showcase the history as well as help collectors know prices of their pieces and know how to date their pieces. Any advice will be thoroughly added to the book to make it better.

Billion Dollar Companies
do not need Kickstarter projects.
Go do something new.
(edit-(perhaps forum members might also be interested in contributing to a fund for the updating of this incredibly outdated browser I'm using that is prone to double-posting?))

I'm pretty certain there are...
I'm pretty certain there are plenty of books that touch on this subject. The Eames Primer book for example is just one. I'm sure there are similar reference guides for other designers that worked for Herman Miller.

The Purpose of the book
The purpose of this book is to help average people, as well as collectors help distinguish what they have have and the value. I talked to several collectors who tried to help guide me on this subject, and stated that their are no guides on helping doing so. This book would help date chairs, help price them, show prototypes and estimated values in case of future reference, and give history and foresight for the company.

Also...
This is going to be a book highly coveted, 250-300 pages, hardcover, high quality paper, etc. Not a crappy book, but a very informative, archive quality, Noguchi table quality book.

.
If I was the typical Eames collector I'd prefer a quartely updated user generated but then vetted magazine for a tablet.
Books are great but for this sort of project it would seems a shame to make something that could become redundant so quickly.

Hmm..

Isn't that what internet design forums are for? Not that an open laptop is as pretty displayed on a coffee table as an expensive-looking book is, but it will always be more up-to-date than a book will be, at least once the book is more than a few months old.
