B & B a little overpriced but
they are lookers to be sure - I settled on the "Harry" neo angled. The dimensions are just as ample but the fuller down filled back pillows are more comfortable.
If you are of average height, I am 5'5" you may find you end up with back issues from tucking the legs as most people are unable to sit with back comfortably supported whilst feet are on the ground. I guess the answer is a boat load of throw cushions but that takes away the svelte look of the Charles and Ray.
For half the cost (My custom upholstered sofa was just under 13K CDN) you can have an awesome piece made to exact specifications. My upholsterer friend had my couch copied by his carpenters for a mere 3K.
Be forewarned, all 3 styles are seriously large. My son, lying on my couch is 6'1".
Cheers,
Suz
Personally I would look at...
Personally I would look at what else is out there as those 2 designs a very common and a bit tired in style but that,s just for me.The Charles seems to wear very poorly as the expanse of materials gets saggy and looks shabby after a few years.
The Ray seems old fashioned to me now or maybe it's just conservative.I dislike the dated daggy round legs very much.
I would never get custom made unless it was in built as it's not worth it.You can get used genuine designer pieces for the same price and you could walkways resell but a custom or copy is virtually worthless on the secondary market.
For a modern sofa similar to your 2 choices I would much prefer the Kennedee modular by Poltrona Frau.
It seems more timeless yet also glamorous with beautiful detailing.
I also don't mind the Arne sofa for B&B in leather or velvet but the Kennedee trumps them all easily.
