I have purchased these chairs. I have always liked the design. I am aware that Mogens Kold manufactured chairs like these. This is a set of 2 carvers and 4 normal chairs. None have any mark at all on them to indicated a designer or manufacturer. I have included two pictures. One of the set and one of the back rest section which seems to be made from wood which has been layered, pressed then curved to shape. I thought this section was carved from a block on original Hovmand Olsen ones? I guess they are late 50s early 60s and Danish? Does anyone have any idea on the maker/manufacturer of these chairs? Many thanks

These are Hovmand Olsen for Mogens Kold.
The correct back is laminated bent teak wood.
There are actually two different versions of this chair. The primary difference is in how the back connects. On some, like yours, the joint is vertical-ish (very similar to the Møller 71 that Hovmand Olsen designed). On others the joint is horizontal at the top of the leg (similar to the Møller 75).
Selig advertising can be found showing the horizontal joint version (mentioning AHO as designer). And I've never seen a horizontal joint chair with Mogens Kold markings. So I think it is likely the horizontal joint chair was made for Selig, while the vertical joint chair was sold through other outlets.
