I acquired a pair of tubular steel frame swivel lounge chairs likely from the late 40's or early 50's. The distinct angular frames and heavy steel frame construction reflect high quality and precision detailing. Everything from the swivel mechanism to the fine metal finish on the
bases (reminiscent of Jacobsen's designs) to the flat
metal bars inserted into the upholstery to stabilize it's
shape tells me they must be by an important designer.

I've sent photos to auction houses and dealers from LA to NY and no one has been able to find anything about them.

not 40s or 50s...
those plastic guides on bottom of chromed steel base are a dead give away. Their not from the 40s, more likly late 60s to mid 70s.
Post some better detail pics of the base and the frame work of the torn open chair icluding fasteners ie; staples tacks, screws and someone here can point you in the right decade.

Try the folks at Sollo Rago in Chicago
Despite being a premier high-end auction house, they still seem to love a 'great find' . They were kind enough to ID some things for me - and offer to aution them of course - but were not pushy or rude at all.

Ikea
These were a very early copy by Ikea, produced during Charles Eames short, but little known, stint with the company.
