I purchased this sofa second hand many years ago. It is in desperate need of a reupholster, but I don't want to spend the money if the quality is not worth it. I have combed the net and haven't been able to find another one like it. It has clearly had a bad reupholster job in the past judging from the nasty green ticking stripe fabric. Thanks for any insight.
I have no idea of the
manufacturer or designer. It looks kind of generic to me. Not that I know a lot about such things.
But if you like it and it's really comfortable, go for it. In my experience, it's hard to find a vintage sofa that's both attractive and super comfortable. I have burned through a bunch myself before finding one that worked.
That said, I'm not a fan of the back...the high back with the short cushions just throws it off for me. If I were redoing it, I'd probably shorten the frame in back and make cushions that matched the height. Better yet, do a tight back and eliminate the loose back cushions, which tend to get squished down and look less than neat.
Just my two cents' worth, of course.
