Without being able to post a picture here, I know this will be difficult. However, I am wondering if anyone can help identify a light fixture I recently purchased.

It is a hanging rectangular chandelier(approx. 24"w x 21"d x 14"h) suspended by a 24" steel tube. The light fixure is made up of 48 5"x7" copper sheets. Each sheet is backed with white enamel. These copper pieces are connected in a overlapping pattern creating a layered rectangle. The copper plates are connected to each other with brass pins which vary in lenght from 1" to 3". The rectangle is hollow with an aluminum support structure across the top and it accepts two large circular light bulbs with standard base. The bottom of the fixture is fitted with an opaque white plastic filter approx. 16"x14". The orignal owner thought that it was from Artemide and was purchased wholesale from an Artemide sales rep in the late sixites or early seventies. This may or may not be accurate.

The only label is from Underwriter Laboratories which includes the Issue Number C-255, 364.

Any clues? Can I find out more about it using the UL number? I tried searching the UL website with no luck.

This thing is gorgeous and I would love to know more about it.

Thanks.
