In search of a globe or globe supplier
I just stumbled upon this site! What a find. I just broke a smokey glass globe that belonged to a Lightolier '70s lamp. I can email pictures if needed. It is 18.5" in diameter and the opening is 3 1/8" in diameter. The best way to describe the globe is that it is clear with a smokey tinge to it.
.
I never thought it would be so difficult. Globes are everywhere.
It is the connection point, the opening that is important. Flat and
no lip. Density of the milk glass should match as well.
Good to know and keep in mind if i ever go 'sputnik'. : )
Just had my 1880 saltbox re-wired head to toe. Needed thirty(ish)
new fixtures and went with flush globes for most since the bare-bulb
would not pass inspection. Cheap in Canada. But i see them in box stores
in the states cheap. Will not work in most vintage lamps without some
difficult adapting i suppose.
Since this thread is already here....
Instead of making a new thread I wanted to see if anyone has seen this lamp before and might point me in the direction of where I can find a globe for it. I have gone to all the lamp stores in my area and they have not been any particular help.
The globes on the lamp are marked made in Germany. Unfortunately the lamp has no markings so I couldn't contact a company.

Lightolier globes
Do you still have the Lightolier globes? I need one (or two as a spare). I have a 12-lamp, two-tier "Williamsburg" style chandolier by Lightolier. The chandolier came with our new house, purchased in 1989. One of the globes - clear - (8" high, with 1" fitter at bottom) has broken and I cannot locate a replacement. If you have any, can you contact me at beakon2 at verizon.net. Thanks.
