Hi guys,
I could use some help choosing between two desks that I'm considering for my room. Initially, I wanted to go for a japanese-style inspired room with white+teak( or walnut)+green accents . However, these two desks are the only ones I could find that where about the right size and that I think may work with the white leather bed frame I got.

I really appreciate any opinions, comments, or advice. Thanks!!

I wonder
what it will take to get new posters to see the boxes below the message area. Perhaps on very small screens they don't show up without scrolling ?
On my 17' flat screen everything but half of the bottom-most box ("password") shows up without scrolling.

I know I have this pompous tendency to jump up on a soapbox so please don't take it personally, its the furniture I have a problem with not any particular person.
Scandinavian design? That implies its made in Finland et al, for $349.00 retail? It's possible but I suspect a bit of cultural appropriation here. The website is rather scant on informtion about where it was produced.
It's supposedly made from venge (wenge/whenge) a timber harvested in Africa, I googled to see if there were any such things as wenge plantations and couldn't find any, indeed I found the link below, which is horrifying.
Other than that of either choice I'd say you'd be purchasing landfill.

I know internet shopping...
I know internet shopping makes it easy to pick and pay and deliver.
Have you considered a vintage piece?
(i just grabbed the first thing i saw that may have a low price)
I'm not suggesting the desk i linked, just an example of so many
available and may have a bit more value in the long run.

wenge
is just the name of the finish (another name for "espresso")... the actual wood is probably something much cheaper and more readily available to the industry.

I think...and hope that...
sonnypippo is right in assuming that it is no wenge...although I know a transportation company that provides help agencies in Africa with fuel, picks up African wood and drives it all the way to the Chinese border where it is imported illegally.
Anyway, back to the desk. I would choose the Crate an Barrel one for the simple reason that horizontal connections on the floor are always a nuisance?and at least it is not an endangered species of?wood

Finding a good desktop-type desk
was one of the most difficult decisions I had to make when I moved into my "new" house.
I couldn't find anything from Herman Miller or Knoll that has a pull-out keyboard tray and room for my CRT. Part of the problem is that neither Knoll or Herman Miller are smart enough to make certain pieces of their office furniture groups available to consumer for their home offices. Heck, I don't even know what pieces might have been available.
So, I got a Blu Dot Paperclip desk and a Leda 3-drawer printer stand on wheels, along with a Blue Dot Paperclip CRT floor stand.
They're nice but that wasn't what I dreaming about.
I was not going to spend big money for an Eames ESU desk then screw in a keyboard tray.
So...good luck, but there's not that many choices.

Thanks for the all the...
Thanks for the all the wonderful feedback! I've thought about going onto craigslist for used/vintage pieces, but I honestly have no idea how to properly pick one out. I could be getting something that was from '98 ikea or a 40 dollar knockoff and wouldn't be able to much tell, which is why I'd thought I stick to more well known stores. Oh, and I should've included this in the original post but here is the white bedframe that I already got: http://www.scandinaviandesigns.com/?page=shop/flypage&page_back=shop/cat...
Btw Koen if you're reading this, so you say go for the C&C one? You mentioned something about the horizontal connector being a nuisance but i'm not sure what you meant.
Again, thanks everyone!

Here is another from the...
Here is another from the same store.
If you need the keyboard tray...
But i still think a nice vintage one would be sweet.
Your bed choice offers a nice clean slate for just about any
direction. Vintage wood might soften such clean lines.

Rockland's ebay vintage pick has real style. I'd go for something like that... but that's just me 🙂
