I am chasing an cheap adjustable wall system on CL.
Two towers. Three cabinets on one side.
Two cabs and a table/shelf on the other.

Missing shelves that connected the two. 8(

Anyone recognize the designer?
The owner has no info except that they belonged to their grandparents.

Thanks!

I've seen this system before--
but don't know the maker/designer. Probably moderately-priced American, 1960's/ 70's.
(Is that a slide-bolt that's been affixed to the lower cabinet, in second photo?)

"System" ?
Looks like a home-built to me -- but maybe not. Truly idiosyncratic veneer flitch . . . heavy corner posts with bunged screw connections. Odd on several counts. Are the doors hung upside down on one face ?
Double-faced cabinets are rare, aren't they ?

I don't think you will find a 'designer' connected to that one. And looks
a bit tired. I looked at similar units for my garage entry. For studio storage
or an entry divider and if it is really cheap, like 50bucks, it may serve a
storage purpose. I think the boxes, the cabinets, can be set up in either
direction so it can have a free-standing purpose. Not a nice piece but a
useful one and much nicer that some overpriced new crap available.
Might clean up sweet.
Usually a dozen or more on e-bay similar. I don't see many today. I ended up using
my extra cado units for the garage entry but at one point i was looking at
that style. Often listed 100-300 hundred. If you can check it in person, you
may get a better assessment. The pic is crappy with flash and never very
flattering. It has a microwave on it. Not a good sign.

Thanks for the feedback. I...
Thanks for the feedback. I was hoping to find a diamond in the rough. It obviously isn't very refined. I can however envision it cleaned up, bins rearranged possibly connected to make three columns?
I think you may be right about the slide bolt. That would be unfortunate. I assumed the door dropped down to become a desk?
In the first picture, you can see two drawers with the black stripe running along the top of each drawer. Drawers are obviously a base position. It is possible the last time it was put together, someone put a base cabinet up high?
The owner agreed to look for a manufacturer tomorrow and possibly send more pictures.
