Hi. I picked up this mid century slatted bench with two seats that slide inward and outward to create an expanding effect. There doesn't appear to be any maker marks on it and I originally thought the legs had been painted black after the fact but I came across a similar bench online that also had black legs ( http://www.treadwaygallery.com/lotInfo.php?i=33447#.UdjOloVpf-Y). Does anyone have any idea who the maker of this bench is or if the legs should or shouldn't be black?
Appreciate any help you can provide.

Anyone? Here are a couple...
Anyone? Here are a couple photos of it now that I've got it home.Just trying to decide if I should keep the legs black as found or strip the black off. Don't want to ruin something if it's supposed to actually be black.

keep them that way,

The sort of philistine
Who would paint wood furniture is rarely the sort who will do it well. Therefore it is almost always obvious whether the paint is original just from looking at the quality of the paint job.
