This is my first post. I have two chairs and a sofa like the chair you see here. Black leather like a Knoll design, but its obviously not Knoll. I was told it was by a Swiss designer--there are no tags or marks of any kind. Can anyone out there help?

I do collect bent metal and mid-century furniture--but I am no expert--If I were, I'd know who designed my sofa and chairs.

florance knoll designed ...
florance knoll designed a chair very much like this, and it could be this one,
she loved the tufted work that mies designed and when she got the license for her company in 1968 they reworked the original Barcelona chair before they started marketing it, although minor it was originlly straight line tufted, to a patch quilt with individual welt , Nice chair looks great!

oh man...
I know this one, I just can't remember the name of the guy, it's killin me. For some reason Artifort keeps popping in my head, but not sure. These chairs are definitely European, and are quality. The name of the designer is just not coming up in my memory right now, it's on the tip of my tongue.

Hello everyone--thank you all so much. If someone could tell me how to post a picture to the forum, I will give you a side and back view of the chairs and sofa. They are supported with leather straps and the quality of the cushions is unbelievable! But who, oh who designed them! Tell me how to attach another photo!!

it really does look like something Mies and Knoll might have been involved in or someone was trying to get mighty close to Mies ideas, still a great chair I love it,

Mid-century mystery solved
I solved my mid-century chair/sofa ID! The designer is Kurt Thut--c. 1956 for Tschannen Metalbautechnik, AG. Switzerland. Thank goodness!! And thanks for everyone's input!! The bride
