Hello, I was hoping some one could tell me ID the manufacturer of this sofa and chair, According to my brother-in-law, his parents bought the sofa around 1962. I found the matching chair in a thrift shop recently. I have searched thousands of Google images and have only seen one that resembles them. It was an ebay auction that had an identical chair, but no info except to say it had a walnut frame. A cabinet maker friend said he thought the wood was teak. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks to me.
Looks to me like it's walnut, but its tough to discern without more detailed images of the grain.
By the construction details it looks to me like American maker but with Danish style. That's just my two cents, no expert here.

Doesn't look Danish. Is that ...
Doesn't look Danish. Is that a dowelled joint at the top of the upright? If so then even more unlikely to be Danish.

Thanks for your responses. I...
Thanks for your responses. I suspected that it was an American attempt at mimicking Danish design. However, it just doesn't have the elegant curves that you see in other MCM. I was hoping some one might know who made it. Just out of curiosity and so I can pass that info onto our kids. I plan to restore the pieces and reupholster them as a gift to my wife and hope to pass them on to our children as a remembrance of their grandparents. I know the only value they have is sentimental.
There aren't any visible dovetail joints. I think it is doweled and glued because there aren't any visible screws except for a couple of braces underneath and one carriage bolt also on the underside.
As for the wood, if it is American, then I guess it is more likely to be walnut. I have added a couple of pics that show some of the grain. Thanks again for your help.
