Didn't we discuss at one point last year differences in designing furniture for Eastern vs. Western body types? (A person on another forum I am on has a question regarding that issue). No joy using the search function. Does anybody remember that thread?

You're a peach
Robert and did you read in the Daily Mail today that the volcanic ash cloud was a hoax? Cheers!

Patrick
it is in the same vein as that thread but it specifically goes into making chairs bigger/smaller according to (fat) Westerners and (tiny) Easterners. Maybe Koen will remember. I think it is from 2008 or 2009.

Your parentheticals are...
Your parentheticals are obviously biased, Riki. It's (hearty) westerners and (twiggy) easterners. I missed that thread in question, was probably stuck somewhere like a McDonald's drive-thru or getting an EKG. That said, the topic sounds interesting.

Geez
Riki, we aren't all overweight! And calling everyone "fat" is both a blanket statement and an insensitive way to put it. Sorry to get all PC on ya. But don't overweight people get enough flack already?
Yes, westerners are larger in general. But, this would be so even without the overweight epidemic in the US. Easterners just have a smaller frames in general.

Did the thread in question...
Did the thread in question also have a discussion about food portions and plate size?
