I was given a beautiful little chair by one of my coworkers today. She described it as being midcentury modern, which was a new term for me. After an hour of googling Ive realized that I now love this type of furniture!
The chair is in good condition, but I'd love to reupholster it. I'd also love to purchase a matching chair.
What type of fabric do you guys recommend for this style of chair and where do I puchase in the USA? Secondly, who made this chair?
How would I go about tracking down another one?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!!
Cheers,
Debbie 🙂

So,
there's your project: get the pink chair, refinish the wood to match on both chairs, then find a good upholsterer (it may not be cheap to do correctly ?).

Lucky you!
But that's not an upholstery job for a beginner at all.
You can find some great buys on high end upholstery fabric on Ebay but you kind of have to know what you're looking for. Wool hopsack or a tweed would be appropriate. Stay away from synthetic office-y type fabrics---there are a LOT of them on ebay. There are also a lot of cheezy chenilles that look nice in photos but aren't nice at all in real life.
The good news is that you won't need more than about 5 yards, so that'll keep the price down.

Thanks!
That was quick!
I contacted the man selling the same chair hoping he might ship it to me, but it had already sold 🙁
I also asked him if he knew who had made the chair and he had no idea other than he paid a good deal of money for it many years ago.
Also thanks so much for the upholstery tips!
I'd still love to know where to find a matching chair,
- Debbie
